Woah. Sweet! Good job with a thorny Daoist (but I repeat myself) text.
I've been slogging through a few stories from TPGJ, because they are also included in 全唐诗, Complete Tang Poems -- specifically some ghost stories that included poetry by said ghost, and so were included in CTP chapters 855-856, devoted to poems by Tang ghosts. Slogging because while poetry of the time a pleasant diversion for me, I find the prose heavy going. I'm doing this to compare the TPGJ versions (which are generally longer) to my CTP translations, for more context i.e. see what I'm missing. Some of the CTP headnotes are ... overly compressed ... shall we say. Which, fair, given it's a poetry collection. But still.
